GZDOC, founded in 2003, is hosted by China’s State General Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SGAPPRFT) and the Government of Guangdong Province and operated by Global Raytur International Public Communication Organization. After 10 years of development, GZDOC has grown from an academic seminar to a documentary conference and now the only professional documentary festival in China, just like a sapling growing into a big tree. Moreover, GZDOC has established cooperation with other world-renowned documentary festivals and become a fixture in the world documentary calendar. It is now one of the influential documentary festivals in China and in the rest of the world which offer trading opportunities.
